Project Overview

As the Interim Chief Product Officer (CPO) for 11Onze, I led the development of El Canut, a next-generation banking super app designed to revolutionize digital banking for the Catalan community. This project aimed to provide users with a seamless, all-in-one platform to manage their financial activities across multiple accounts and services.

Challenges

11Onze sought to create a next-generation banking app that would:

  • Consolidate multiple bank accounts from different countries into a single interface.
  • Offer comprehensive financial services, including payments, transfers, savings, and loans.
  • Integrate seamlessly with their existing Private Social Network, La Plaça, to enhance community engagement.
  • Ensure scalability and adaptability for future technological advancements.

Solution

Under my leadership, the following key solutions were implemented:

  1. Strategic Partnerships:
    • Collaborated with leading technology firms such as Episode Six, Weavr, and Vacuumlabs to leverage their expertise in payment processing, API integration, and fintech solutions.
  2. Human-Centered Design:
    • Developed an atomic design system that connected design and code efficiently, enabling global teams to work flexibly and synchronously.
    • Conducted extensive user experience (UX) research, including qualitative and quantitative user testing, to ensure the app met real-world needs and preferences.
  3. Comprehensive Feature Integration:
    • Enabled users to manage payments, transfers, savings, and loans from a single login, providing a one-stop-shop banking experience.
    • Integrated the app with La Plaça, allowing users to seamlessly transition between banking services and community engagement platforms.
  4. Scalability and Future-Readiness:
    • Designed the app with scalability in mind, ensuring it could adapt to future technological advancements and user demands.
    • Established a robust technical infrastructure capable of supporting additional features and services as the platform evolved.

Conclusion

The development and launch of El Canut marked a significant milestone in digital banking for the Catalan community. By focusing on user-centric design, strategic technological partnerships, and seamless integration with existing platforms, we delivered a comprehensive banking solution that not only met but exceeded user expectations.
